ARTHRITIS PAIN OF THE ANKLE
Osteoarthritis of the joint is the most common form of arthritis that results in ankle joint pain. However, rheumatoid arthritis and post-traumatic arthritis are also common causes of ankle pain secondary to arthritis.
Signs and Symptoms:
- Pain
- Grating or Popping Sensation
- Crepitus
Testing:
- Plain X-rays
- Lab Work
- MRI
Diagnosis:
A targeted history and physical examination combined with appropriate testing should help the clinician identify and properly treat this condition.
Treatment:
- Drug Therapy
- Heat or Cold Therapy
- Injection of the Ankle
