ARTHRITIS PAIN OF THE HIP
Osteoarthritis is the most common type of hip arthritis. Also called wear-and-tear arthritis or degenerative joint disease, osteoarthritis is characterized by progressive wearing away of the cartilage of the joint.
Signs and Symptoms:
- Pain
- Grating or Popping Sensation
- Crepitus (Crackling)
Testing:
- Plain X-Rays
- Lab Work
- MRI

A targeted history and physical examination combined with appropriate testing should help the clinician identify and properly treat this condition.
